Cottage Bread Mix - Wheat Malt

This complete mix for Wheat Malt can be used in a bread machine as well as for manual preparation.

This bread mix is very easy to prepare – lukewarm water is the only ingredient added to the mix.

Wheat malt is a richly filled dark bread. This mix is based on the famous Waldkorn breads. Do you like to eat really dark bread? Try Wheat Malt!

Preparation Method
  • Mix the recommended amount of water with the bread mix.
  • Knead it into a firm dough in approximately 20 minutes.
  • Cover the dough in cling wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 30 or 40 minutes.
  • Shape the dough as desired and allow the dough rise another 40 minutes in the baking form. 
  • Bake the bread for 35 to 40 minutes in a 230ēC preheated oven.
400 grams of mix – 260 ml water
500 grams of mix – 325 ml water
600 grams of mix – 390 ml water
Tips
  • Add some more water if the dough seems dry after 5 minutes of kneading.  
  • After baking, turn the bread out onto a rack and let it cool down.
  • In order to prevent the bread from drying out, store it in a closed plastic bag.
  • Do not store your home-made bread in the refrigerator.
